Loose Limbs

He wiggles his foot and it floats
Off into the distant reaches of outer space.
“Awe-some,” he remarks,
then tries the same with his left hand.
When all of his body parts have dispersed
into the vastness
of the space-time continuum,
he exhales, and a cool breeze
graces his mother’s bedroom.
“Harvey,” she calls out,
“Where are you?”
But his essence has entered
the suborbital tropic
of the unknown.
